FAQs

BOOKING:

What is your booking procedure?

Your wedding event is officially booked when the contract is signed and the 60% retainer is paid. The remaining 40% is due one month (4 weeks) before the event date.

What is your turnaround time?

Our turnaround time is 4 weeks but can stretch to 8 weeks during peak season.

What is the proofing process?

To keep your experience as fluid as possible, we don’t do proofing. For example, if we take 500 pictures, we DO NOT have you pick 200 for final post-production. Instead, we post-produce and deliver everything that is viable/presentable. So, say we take 500 pictures and 450 are good to go — we will process 450 pictures for you.

How is your coverage setup?

We do not count hours nor bill by the hour. We offer “full coverage” through single-day, two-day, and three-day packages. These packages, generally, work very well with American, Asian, and Desi weddings.

We agree on a start time — for example, the bride getting ready. And we agree on an end time — for example, the “ruksati”, a final ritual, or an end performance.

Please note, “full coverage” understanding is in good faith and within general outlines of events. If your events have special considerations — such as a 5 AM start time or ending at 2 AM — there will be a $500 service surcharge.

What is the standard final deliverable?

Our standard deliverable is a set of high-resolution JPEGs in an online password-protected gallery. The gallery allows you to download all full-resolution pictures to your local drive and serves as a sharing mechanism.

Do you offer albums/prints?

Yes, albums and canvas prints are available as a-la-carte options.

Do you travel?

Yes, we are available for travel. Travel is calculated by current (at the time of booking) airfare and hotel prices plus $100 to cover fluctuations.

PLANNING:

Are there any considerations we should have when planning our wedding that will help in getting great pictures?

1) Plan for your first look, couple’s session, and bridal session to be outdoors. We love shooting outside. Saving one to two hours in your day to go out and take your personal highlight pictures works out a lot better than trying to take them during dinner in 15 minutes.

2) Plan your internal decor carefully. For example, a venue with large windows is going to allow for a different look than a venue with no windows. Another example, if you have heavy space lighting - as in your decorator has flooded every wall with deep magenta accent lights - it will be a part of your pictures’ distinct look.

3) Put some thought into the types of pictures you like, but also, your personal situation and timing. For example, you may like an outdoor look for your pictures. An outdoor session at 5pm in Miami during June is going to have a different look than an outdoor shoot at 5pm in Northern Virginia during December.

4) For large weddings - for example, 250 to 700 people - have a lead from the family who can help us organize group shots. Create a list of people and the order you want the groups to go in, prioritizing the more significant groups.

5) A program of the day is always helpful. Things can fluctuate on the day of the wedding, but a line item list of planned activities is still a huge help.

Do you offer coverage for conservative weddings that have men and women separate?

Yes. We can accommodate such considerations.

What should we bring for our wedding day couple’s session?

Sneakers. Especially if you have very extravagant and heavy outfits. The location might require us to walk over gravel, grass, etc. Having sneakers to switch into from your heels really helps. Also, water bottles, any touch-up makeup you may need, and a couple of extra pins if you need them.

How far out do you need booking confirmation?

Peak summer and fall seasons usually get booked out six months in advance. However, we’ve taken on projects just a month out. There’s no set minimum time, but the earlier you complete your booking with us, the more time we have to plan and collaborate with you.
